The Jakobsbad stop on the Appenzeller Bahnen is right next to the valley station.

Accessible on the Kronberg - we want to live up to this claim. We'll show you how you can enjoy amazing experiences on the mountain and in the valley despite your disability.

According to the SBB guidelines, the following applies:

  • With the SBB Companion Travelcard, one accompanying person and/or one guide dog or assistance dog or both travel free of charge.
  • Foreign travelcards do not entitle you to any discounts when purchasing tickets in Switzerland.

There are two ways to travel with a travelcard:

  • The person with a disability is in possession of a companion ticket and a valid ticket: the companion travels free of charge.
  • The accompanying person must be in possession of a valid ticket: the person with a disability and an accompanying ticket travels free of charge.

Barrier-free activities in the mountains and valley

The following two hiking trails are accessible for wheelchairs, but do not meet the standards. The Jakobsbad-Gonten section of the barefoot path is passable and accessible. The section between Gonten and Gontenbad has natural stone steps.

In any case, we recommend that you are accompanied by someone to hold or push the wheelchair.
