Unfamiliar sensory impressions

This hike starts in Gontenbad. But first you have to take off your shoes and socks. The trail leads you through a moorland landscape to the Toobeschopf Museum. There you can bathe your arms in a special fountain in the style of Dr. Kneipp. You continue towards Gonten across meadows and streams with short stony or asphalted sections. You will experience unusual sensory impressions while walking barefoot. From Gonten, the trail continues across green meadows to the end point. Shortly before Jakobsbad, you have the opportunity to wash your feet in the stream.

We also recommend taking a towel with you for the hike so that you can dry your feet. And if you are traveling with a group, we recommend combining the barefoot hike with a leisurely carriage ride.

Tip

The Appenzell cable cars take you back to Gontenbad in comfort.
