Varied hike

The cable car takes you comfortably up from Jakobsbad to the Kronberg. From the Kronberg, you hike along the broad ridge with wonderful views of the Säntis towards Schwägalp until you reach a prominent saddle below Alp Dorwees. Here, don't miss the signpost pointing right towards Petersalp-Lauftegg. A wide ridge follows, which leads around the Bälmli valley basin in a wide arc to the west. Before Petersalp, the path climbs steeply once again before it then steadily loses altitude - past the idyllic Dürrenspitzli - to Lauftegg. The trail continues over the lovely Lauftegg, past the scattered grazing rights and the first farms, where you can already see the towers of the Leiden Christi monastery and the valley station of the Kronberg cable car from afar.
