On the move on bear paws
This black-marked tour starts in Gontenbad and is suitable for snowshoe enthusiasts in good to very good physical condition. The trail leads you over flat terrain past the golf course and through the middle of the Gonten cross-country skiing area. Then you start the ascent: the route leads steadily and over more or less steep passages via Blattersegg and Chlepfhütten to Scheidegg. Continue along the ridge up to the Kronberg. The cable car takes you comfortably down to Jakobsbad. From there, the Appenzell cable cars will take you back to the starting point in Gontenbad.
Tip
Conversely, the tour is less strenuous for you (variant with cable car)
