Duration
3 hours 30 minutes
From the starting point at Jakobsbad, you first have to climb a few meters in altitude. Via Unterlauftegg, you pass Klein- and Grosslauftegg and continue steadily uphill through a natural forest aisle to the highest point of the tour, the "Schachen" alp. On the way, you have crossed the cantonal border without realizing it. You can also enjoy the rewarding view with the Kronberg and the mighty Säntis behind you from the nearby Zimmermannslauftegg. Heading east, you now gently lose altitude.
A gently sloping short section of forest follows until you reach Chräg. From there, you only have a short stretch ahead of you. Passing the Feld gymnasium, you walk across the picturesque village square of Urnäsch to the nearby train station.
